Mystery Box build guide
Today I will present build details behind the Mystery Box. To recap, the Mystery Box is a big cardboard box with large question marks on four sides that glow white when the box is closed. Once the box is opened, the question marks and the inside of the box flash red. Watching the build timelapse can be helpful to follow along.
Mystery Box
In 2012, I created an illuminated “Mystery Box” to hold a Secret Santa gift. A white translucent question mark is present on the 4 sides of the box and they glow white. When the box is opened it flashes red.
The lighting logic is controlled by an Arduino. The box has been collecting dust since 2012 and has been damaged a bit during this time. I would like to fix the broken bits and improve to fix the shortcomings that I discovered since doing the original build.
